Oscar winning actress Jennifer Lawrence says she liked director Jodie Foster’s direction style when she worked with her in the 2011 movie “The Beaver”.
Lawrence, 22, enjoyed the fact that Foster, who is an actress herself, was clear about what she wanted from actors while shooting. “What I like about working with an actress as a director is that she’s not afraid of actors,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted Lawrence as saying. “People tip-toe around actors like they are emotional land mines, which is probably right, but I find that annoying because I want someone to tell me what I’m doing wrong. She was very blunt. She would just be like, ‘Talk louder. Do this’. I like that a lot,” she said. Lawrence has also started filming “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. In the film, she will reprise the role of Mystique. Source: We Speak News

As Jennifer Lawrence is possibly the most in-demand actress in Hollywood right now, it should come as little surprise that she landed a spot in Total Film’s Future 100: our preview of the hottest incoming movies, stars and trends. Inside the brand new issue of Total Film magazine (available for only £1.99 on your iPad), she tells us about her meteoric rise and blazing future, talking about everything from ‘indies vs blockbusters’, to her own acting methods. Here’s an excerpt of what she had to say on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, where the pressure of matching the predecessor seems to have caused her no panic: “If possible, there was even less preparation because I was like, ‘I’ve done this before’,” she said. “We had a lot of the same crew. Josh [Hutcherson] and Liam [Hemsworth] were there. Normally, when I do a movie, I’m meeting people for the first time, so it was amazing to be able to have the same group of people. It was so fun.” The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens in the UK on 22 November 2013. For much more from Jennifer Lawrence, pick up pick up issue 207 of Total Film magazine, which is out now! Winona Ryder laments Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Stewart’s lack of privacy in a candid new cover story for Interview magazine’s May issue. Asked specifically about what Lawrence and Stewart are “going through today,” Ryder tells the mag, “I have to say, I really wonder if I would become an actress if I was their age now.” “I don’t know how they do it, though, in just trying to maintain some degree of a personal life and privacy,” says the actress, going on to reference Jodie Foster’s Golden Globes plea for privacy. Ryder explains, “I heard people who were like, ‘Why is she talking about privacy when she’s on stage?’ But I have to say, I got what she was saying.” “Look, this is a story in Interview, so I do get how people complaining about privacy when they’re actually doing very public things can come across as a bit hypocritical,” says the movie star. “But I do feel so lucky that I got to get in at least 15 years pre-whatever that show is called where they follow you around and then put it on the Internet. That stuff just didn’t exist before.” “I also have yet to make sense of reality shows and the whole famous-to-be-famous thing where I don’t really know what they do, but they’re very famous — I know that’s a whole other thing,” continues Ryder. She adds, ”But in terms of what happened to me or to other people who are friends of mine who have gone through difficult times where it’s really publicized… You know, it’s hard.” “So it’s a combination of my heart goes out to them, but then at the same time I know that they don’t know anything different,” concludes the actress. While the museum will not confirm who will attend until Monday night, things do tend to leak. As usual, the star power will be overwhelming, and while things can always change, those rumored to be coming (spoiler alert!) include Jennifer Lopez with Michael Kors, Gwyneth Paltrow with Valentino, and Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard with Dior. Jennifer Lawrence is getting some love from another short-haired Hollywood starlet. Miley Cyrus took to Twitter last night to share how she feels about the Hunger Gamesactress’ new wavy bob. “I [heart] JLAW new hair cut #shorthairdontcare,” Cyrus posted about Lawrence, who debuted her new ‘do on Saturday at the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards. So what inspired Lawrence to chop her locks? “It wasn’t for a role…it was totally spontaneous,” the Oscar-winner’s hair stylist Mark Townsend recently toldAllure. “Her hair had quite a bit of damage from all the coloring, so I thought we’d take about four inches off, but she kept telling me to take off more and more,” he dished. “I ended up cutting about eight inches.” And believe it or not, Lawrence did bring in a celeb inspiration photo to the salon. “She had a picture of Dianna Agron,” Townsend said. “It was a cut with choppy layers.” Source: E Online

On behalf of his famous sister, Louisvillian Blaine Lawrence will accept Down Syndrome of Louisville’s award for Jennifer Lawrence on April 26 at the organization’s Derby bash, the Mint Jubilee Gala. The organization is presenting the Academy Award-winning actress, who isn’t able to attend, with the Down Syndrome of Louisville Friendship Award to honor her relationship with Louisville’s Andy Strunk. Strunk, who has Down syndrome, has received national attention in recent months for his lifelong friendship with Lawrence, which started when the two attended Kammerer Middle School together. They still communicate regularly and when Lawrence is in town, she usually drops by his Indian Hills home to say hello, often bringing him signed movie posters. Strunk recently told The Courier-Journal that he was “like best friends” with Lawrence and also said “she’s kind… I think she has spirit.” The party, presented by Wal-Mart, is from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Down Syndrome of Louisville Lifelong Learning Center. The evening includes dinner and dancing to the Monarchs. Proceeds benefit Down Syndrome of Louisville. Source: Courier Journal « Older Entries
