I’ve added a new production still of Jennifer as Raven in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ movie to the gallery.
During an interview with Teen Vogue, Glee’s star, Lea Michele has something to speak about Miss Lawrence. Below is the cited quote from the interview.
Question: Which one of your peers empowers you the most?
Lea Michele: Jennifer Lawrence, who is outspoken, beautiful, and comfortable with herself. I love her. There are lots of really brave, awesome girls in the business right now.
American Hustle helmer David O. Russell is in early talks to rewrite and direct an untitled Fox 2000 film about the remarkable life story of Joy Mangano, a struggling Long Island single mom of three who became one of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs with her self-wringing Miracle Mop invention. He wants Jennifer Lawrence to play Mangano. Lawrence, after winning the Best Actress Oscar for the Russell-directed Silver Linings Playbook, isnominated for Best Supporting Actress for American Hustle.
The project has a script by Annie Mumolo, who with Kristen Wiig got Oscar nominations for scripting Bridesmaids. This is a rags-to-riches story of a woman who worked three jobs to support her kids and who overcame long odds to finally get her due with an invention that became an HSN sensation and allowed Mangano to clean up. It is a strong empowerment tale.
John Davis and John Fox are producing for Davis Entertainment, along with Ken Mok. Fox 2000′s Elizabeth Gabler and Rodney Ferrell shaped the script to get to this point. Mangano became known as the “Mother of Invention” after she sold her mop -making enterprise, Ingenious Designs, LLC, in a multimillion-dollar deal with HSN. She remains company president, continuing to be one of HSN’s most successful presenters, with hourly sales topping $1 million. Mangano developed Huggable Hangers, and Fast Company ranked Mangano as one of its 100 Most Creative People in Business and one of the 10 Most Creative Women in Business.
Lawrence has two more installments of The Hunger Games and reprises as Mystique in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. She is attached to reteam with Gary Ross in an adaptation of East Of Eden and the Hannah Kent novel Burial Rites.
American Hustle is up for 10 Oscars, including Best Picture, for performances by Lawrence, Amy Adams, Christian Bale and Silver Linings Playbook‘s Bradley Cooper. Russell is up for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay with Eric Singer. It is Russell’s third straight Best Director nomination, after Silver Linings Playbook and The Fighter. He’s repped by CAA and Gang Tyre. Lawrence is repped by CAA and lawyered by Gretchen Rush and Steve Warren.
While some actresses might steer clear of artificially colored snack foods while in full 70s hair, makeup, and skin-tight, custom-made white gown, Jennifer Lawrence—our charmingly no-fuss Oscar winner—had no qualms about doing just the opposite on the set of American Hustle. During an awards-season discussion last night, moderated by Vanity Fair senior West Coast editor Krista Smith inside Diane von Furstenberg’s Journey of a Dress exhibit in Los Angeles, American Hustle’s Oscar-nominated costume designer Michael Wilkinson explained how he went about transforming Lawrence for her character’s highest-drama moment in David O. Russell’s period piece—and how Lawrence inadvertently mussed the design.
Describing how he translated her character’s unstable mental state in his costume designs, Wilkinson said, “With Rosalyn there was a real dichotomy, almost a schizophrenia. We saw her at home, where she was sort of hiding from the world, she was depressed and falling asleep under a sun lamp. We liked that she didn’t give a damn how she looked [at home] . . . wearing printed muumuus and shapeless things. Then, when she goes out to town, she switches modes and tries to get attention and make her husband jealous.”
The highest-impact design Wilkinson created for Lawrence was a low-cut, white metallic jersey dress that Russell had envisioned Rosalyn wearing during her climactic scene—during which she confronts and kisses her husband’s mistress, played by Amy Adams. “David really had it set in his mind that she would be wearing this dress that she just poured herself into. He wanted to see every single lump and bump. There had to be a sense of, ‘Is she going to fall out of it?’ It had this dangerous feeling to it, which matched her own dangerous mental landscape.” • Read full story »
The American Hustle starlet revealed during an interview with The Sun that she thinks the British series The Only Way Is Essex, also known as TOWIE, is “ridiculously amazing.”
“You guys have your own version of Jersey Shore which is so ridiculously amazing I can’t even begin,” the 23-year-old told the newspaper about the ITV2 program. “It’s like another world in Essex.”
“I’m a big fan of all things British,” the Hunger Games actress said. “I get to spend some time there now and again and I like that I can go for fish and chips wearing the most awful outfit and it’s cool, you know.”
As for TV, the blond beauty admitted that she likes that UK TV programming lacks filter when it comes to inappropriate language.
“You guys get to say f–k and s–t a lot more than our main TV shows do,” she admitted.
I’ve added a new production still of Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique/Raven in her upcoming X Men sequel, “Days of Future Past’. Looking forward to the movie!
The funnygal and her Hunger Games costar Liam Hemsworth decided to take a break from shooting their next films, Mockingjay Part 1 and 2, and instead joined some of their pals from the set for a night on the town while in Atlanta.
A source confirms to E! News that J.Law and the group were at The Bookstore Pub over the weekend. “They were there Saturday night, went across to MJQ Concourse club afterwards,” the insider tells us, and adds, “They’ve been there in the past, too.
How? While at Bookstore, “Jennifer Lawrence almost walked into the men’s bathroom,” the source tells us.
She probably realized fairly quickly that she made a wrong turn somewhere and rushed to the women’s bathroom. Or, since J.Law seems very unpredictable, she might have momentarily entertained the idea of using the men’s room, anyway. (But, uh, probably not.)
“The crew from Hunger Games is awesome, they drank and had a good time,” the source added.
I’ve added new magazine scan of Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique/Raven for X-Men covers the ‘Empire’ magazine, March issue to the gallery.
And it goes without saying that it’s certainly not a red carpet these days without seeing Jennifer Lawrence in an elegant Dior gown, and we can now report that the pairing just became a bit more permanent.
A source confirms to E! News that the Hunger Games star has just extended her contract with the high-profile fashion house, committing for an estimated three more years to the tune of approximately $15 million in compensation!
Whoa, must be nice, J. Law.!
Empire Magazine has posted a brand new teaser from “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. Check out the video below:
