Jennifer Lawrence did not have the best time in high school. In fact, she dropped out when she was 14 after she was made to feel stupid by mean girls. The Hunger Games actress has gone on to prove how cool she really is as one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today.
The actress reveals how much she struggled with school and reveals the bullying she endured. She explains how uncool she was during her teen years, “I changed schools a lot when I was younger because the girls were mean.” Maturity and success have made it possible for Jennifer to look back on those days with a new outlook. She says if she could talk to her teen self, she would say, “Don’t worry about the b*****s.”The star tells a story about some of the hatefulness she was subjected to by those mean girls, “One gave me invitations to hand out to a party I wasn’t invited to.” Poor Jennifer was belittled so much, she was under the impression she was stupid. “I remember a lot of times, especially during math, when everyone got it except me, and it made me feel stupid,” she reflects.
Fortunately, she can look back at those days and realize it was not intelligence that was lacking. She says, “It wasn’t until I left school that I was like ‘OK, I’m not that stupid.'” Jennifer Lawrence is just one of many celebrities who has admitted to being the butt of jokes and the victim of bullying during their formative years. Hopefully, young men and women will see the success these celebrities have achieved and realize there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
