Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence has raved about British men’s manners, and boyfriend Nicholas Hoult did not disappoint this weekend.
Perched atop of the Skins star’s shoulders for a better view, the budding Anglophile wore a camel coloured bowler hat and a parka in defiance of the poor weather.
The 21-year-old actress took photos of the procession on her iPhone along with the throng of revellers lining the riverbank near Chelsea Bridge on Sunday.
The couple joined the crowds lining the banks of the Thames in Chelsea to watch more than a thousand vessels set off in wave after wave of tugs, steamers, pleasure cruisers, dragon boats and kayaks with the Queen travelling at its heart.
The river-borne event was one of the highlights of the four-day Diamond Jubilee weekend and spectators refused to let the miserable weather dampen their spirits.
This was Jennifer’s second visit to London in as many weeks with beau Nicholas who was named as one of GQ’s most stylish men under 30 this year.
Jennifer and Nicholas, who met on the set of X Men: First Class in 2010, went public with their relationship last year.
The duo have been enjoying a European vacation attending the Formula One race in Monaco last week and London before that.
The pair were seen walking around Chinatown and went to see Posh, a new play about a debaunched dinner party, which opened at the Duke Of York Theatre last month.
While the couple have been tight-lipped on the subject of their relationship, Jennifer did hint at what may have attracted her to the actor during an interview earlier this year.
She told UK Glamour magazine: ‘British men have these wonderful manners, and everything they say is funnier just because of the accent.
‘There’s this cute “I’m trying to be adorable because I know you’re mad at me” accent, and then the drunk accent where all the consonants have vanished.
Having spent a lot of time in the UK since she started dating Hoult, Lawrence has also developed a fondness for the country’s fashion.
She explained: ‘I love the relaxed way British girls dress. I think I dress like one.‘
‘I like Topshop, Portobello Road and Selfridges – although I always get Selfridges and Waitrose mixed up, which has led to a few disappointing shopping trips.’
