The Hunger Games seems poised to join Twilight as the latest YA series turned blockbuster film, so the film’s leads must be feuding, right? That’s what a recent tabloid article would have you believe, but Jennifer Lawrence says it’s simply not true. In fact, she and alleged arch nemesis Kristen Stewart shared a laugh about it.
“I wrote her an email because there was this huge, like, article about a Twilight and Hunger Games feud, and we’ve never met before and never spoken. There were all these, like, fake quotes from me that were actually hilarious,” Lawrence tells Access Hollywood. “Some of [the quotes] were from my ‘pal’ and ‘sources.’ It was hilarious. When I was reading it, I was cracking up.” Then it dawned on her that Stewart may not know the quotes were totally bogus, so she sent her an email, joking, “Hey, can’t wait to see more as this feud unfolds!”
After years of Twilight mania Stewart knows not to believe everything she reads. Lawrence says she replied, “It’s fine. Welcome to the world where everything you say gets turned into [something it’s not].” Despite the crash course in megastardom, Lawrence says she’ll keep reading what the press writes about her. “I mean the first time they are, like, fabricating stories about your real life, that’s intriguing.” Plus, how else will she know whether or not the cast of Harry Potter is plotting against her?
